PTFE Seals

WM Seals specialise in the manufacture & supply of PTFE seals.

PTFE Seals are the preferred choice for many applications and are also a great replacement for more traditional oil seals.

They’re made from tough polymer, which ensures a much longer life with reduced need for maintenance, replacement or repair.

PTFE has a memory and will always return to its original form. The plastic memory effect needs time to take place before use to allow the PTFE Seal to expand so it perfectly matches the shaft diameter before use. This is completed with the use of specialist tools which can be supplied by WM Seals.

Uses for PTFE Seals

  • Motors – PTFE Shaft Seals are perfectly suited for motors.

  • Gearboxes – PTFE rotary seals are suited to applications with very-high speed surfaces.

  • Blowers – PTFE shaft seals are ideal for blowers as they have high wear and pressure resistance.

  • Mixers – PTFE seals meet the requirements of the food industry and there are food grades available.

  • Spindles – PTFE valve seals are used in spindles, thanks to PTFE’s minimal leak qualities.

  • Compressors – PTFE seals ensure optimal performance of screw compressors.

Improving Performance in Hydraulic Applications

Hydraulic applications are usually challenging for seals. Not only do they need to be able to prevent fluid leakage, but they need to withstand high pressures, extreme temperatures and transverse forces within the cylinder.

The strong properties of PTFE material, makes it perfectly suitable for usage in hydraulic seals.

Industries

PTFE Seals are utilised in across many industries. This is due to the many benefits of the material and it’s chemical resistant properties, making it perfect to use in extreme temperatures, water, food products and more.
